With their self-titled debut album (released way back in 1978) Van Halen rewrote the rulebook of hard rock. Guitarist Eddie Van Halen redefined what an electric guitar could do whilst vocalist Dave Lee Roth brought new levels of showmanship to the role of metal singer. Between the two of them they made Van Halen one of the biggest rock bands ever.

Despite a seemingly never ending procession of vocalists (Roth was replaced by Sammy Hagar who in turn stepped aside for Gary Cherone to take over), Van Halen have continued to produce quality rock anthems that thrill on every listen. ‘The Best Of Both Worlds’ features all the huge hits including ‘Jump’, ‘Hot For Teacher’ and ‘Eruption’ and highlights just what an outstanding band Van Halen were, and still are.
